Maj Gen Ashok Sinha was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers on 17 Jun 1973. An alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, he has attended the prestigious Senior Command,Higher Command and NDC Courses. The Officer has held multifarious important appointments in his career. These appointments include Col Instructor at Collegeof Military Engineering , Pune, BM of Engineer Brigade, GSO 1 (Ops) and Col Administration of Mountain Division. He has held the prestigious appts of Secy NDC and CE Southern Command.

The officer did his Masters in Defence Management Studies. He is M Phil in Def & Mgt Studies, PGC in Computer Application and B Tech in Civil Engineering.

He assumed the appointment of Addl Director General (B) at DG NCC on 05 Sep 08.

The Maj Gen is married to Mrs Rashmi Sinha and has two daughters
